Description

Experience the ultimate fusion of a crisp Caesar salad and a savory street taco. These Chicken Caesar Smash Tacos feature thinly sliced halal chicken breast, smashed to golden-crust perfection in a cast-iron skillet. Topped with melted mozzarella, freshly shredded romaine, and a delightful crunch from crushed garlic butter croutons, this dish offers a gourmet experience that is both hearty and refreshing. It is a quick, easy, and flavorful meal perfect for a lively family taco night.

Ingredients

1 lb Halal chicken breast, thinly sliced
8 small flour tortillas
1.5 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup garlic butter style croutons
2 cups finely shredded romaine lettuce
0.5 cup halal compliant Caesar dressing
0.25 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
Salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste

Instructions

Finely shred the romaine lettuce and set aside.
Crush the croutons in a plastic bag until they form coarse crumbs.
Season the chicken with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
Place chicken in the pan and smash firmly with a spatula; sear for 3-4 minutes per side until deeply golden.
Remove chicken, let rest for two minutes, and slice into thin strips.
Warm the tortillas in the same pan, sprinkling with mozzarella until melted.
Assemble the tacos by layering the chicken, lettuce, dressing, crushed croutons, and grated Parmesan.

Notes

Ensure the chicken is patted very dry before searing to achieve the best crust. Use a heavy-duty press or a second skillet to get an even smash on the meat. Store leftovers separately to keep the croutons crunchy.
